At first glance, the Alsatian Wine Route offers a true postcard image:  Perfect vines, peaceful yearly armies conquering the Vosges forests, the heroin of the proud castles of the Middle Ages, and villages surrounded by these old ramparts which protect no longer protect anything but the perfect happiness of the flowered allays, welcoming Winstubs, festive cellars, baroque signs or of the secular houses, Romanic churches, wells the ensigns baroques or from the secular houses, the Romance churches, the wells dating from the Renaissance.
For all these unforgettable pictures, the wine trail deserves your visit.  But it is only to the inquisitive traveller, outgoing beaten paths, that it will reveal its most secret twists and turns.  From the gate of Thann to that of Marlenheim, take time to pierce the soul of the road: meet the vine growers, taste their wines, get lost in the medieval cities then, far from the multitude, walk along the wine paths and admire, in the vines perched on the hills, the panorama which will belong to you only, the time of a pause.
Finally, let you surprise, at each stage, by a culinary genius which makes of Alsace, with the complicity of these wines, the greediest region of France.  Each of the 170 km of the wine route thus invites you to cross the borders of this magic world to meet a country where life is conceived like an art.
